Something tells me Google CEO Eric Schmidt has not really taken the dive into Twitter yet. Why? Because he has called the service a "poor man's e-mail system."
- No delegation process. Everything is linear. There's no real choice but to take it as it comes.
- No annoying CC or BCC confusion.
- Millions of readers, whether you like it or not.
- Comparing Twitter to e-mail is like comparing Facebook and AIM to e-mail. It just doesn't hold any water. In fact, Twitter could better be compared to an instant messenger in a massive chat room format. Social instant messaging, if you will.
- E-mails are capable of producing complex, in depth manifestos. Twitter is bite-sized. One chunk of information at a time, which is, yes, sometimes a nuisance or a disadvantage, but is what makes Twitter... well, Twitter.
